Buffet service follows a long table served with many food varieties and guests have to come and get the food they want to eat. Cutlery and glasses are set on separate table and turn by turn guests first get the plate and then the food. It creates a very friendly environment while waiting for the turn and gives the guests a chance to mingle with each other.

This is a very exciting form of serving. The caterer prepares the food in front of the guests rather than in the kitchen. The cart consists of cooking equipment and the meal is served straight from the stove. Not all the dishes can be prepared like that but meals like omelets, pastas, grilled meats, flaming desserts, mashed potato related dishes, salad bowls with selected ingredients, sushi and fajitas.

This type constitutes separate servings on each table with bowls of food items of every type and it is in bulk. The food is passed either by a server or the guests do it themselves. Seating is present around the table. The meat is cut by the host mostly. It gives a very nice friendly environment to the dinner as guests laugh and talk and eat simultaneously.
